Melissa Rivera, LCSW, smiling, wearing dark-framed glasses and a black blazer

Hi, I'm Melissa.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in both Colorado and Puerto Rico, and the founder of Hope & Bloom Bilingual Therapy. I work with individuals and families in English and Spanish, entirely by telehealth, and I also consult with other clinicians who are building bilingual and bicultural practices of their own.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I completed my social work education entirely in Spanish and began my clinical career. Thinking, diagnosing, and building rapport with clients in Spanish isn't something I layered onto an English-language framework later. It's the foundation my clinical instincts were built on. That background, paired with years of direct practice on the island, is a big part of what I bring to this work today, whether I'm meeting with a client or consulting with a fellow clinician.

My approach

Culturally humble and clinically grounded: that's what I hope this relationship feels like, whatever brings you here. I want to meet you where you are, and I believe the real, unpolished questions deserve just as much room as the ones that sound good in a session note.
